Question: New york unemployment compensation~what % is it in new york state?

We were all laid off 4 wks. ago. I heard you have a few weeks you can claim unemployment though not certain. It's tough out there and still haven't found a job. What % would the check[s] be?- - 50 % of my earnings? And would they pay "back up " unemployment since I've been unemployed exactly 5 weeks now? Please advise, thank you. P.S. There's a good possibility that I got a great new job, though it wouldn't begin until May 1st. Oh gosh, PS > time has gone by so fast lost track of actual time of unemployment~offcially it began the 1st week of January!!!

Go to the link below. It's for people in the state of New York. The link is to the page where you choose the county and then a job title. It seems to be the page where you determine how much you qualify for. There are also many buttons you can click on. Even one entitled "Contact Us. " Good luck to you. I'm no longer employed. Retired, and will be 70 this summer. I no longer have to worry about such things as unemployment. That's all behind me. And, incidentally, I'm uneducated, High School Drop Out, and worked low paying jobs from age 16. But was fortunate enough never to have been out of work. Anyway, sorry you find yourself under unemployment conditions. Hope things turn around for you soon. PS: I'm not hurting. I saved my pennies, and learned to live in moderation, so everything is just fine at this end.
