Seems to me that actually having a minority being accepted as a viable Presidential candidate is indicative of change. What do you think that change is?

Scares me cause he speaks of change but doesn't say anything past that She speaks of change and the same thing McCain's wife scares me period

I think the door is certainly opening wider and that change is on the horizon. We need to put a plan together that will allow us to move forward collectively rather than each of us having our own agenda. I think protection in the workplace and simple discrimination laws should be first. Civil unions are important but i can wait until we are assured that we cannot lose our job or get kicked out of an apartment for our sexual orientation. Oh yeah, and McCains wife scares me too!

Who wins the presidency is irrelevant to this question because the time for change has been here for awhile, and the call remains the same: THE TIME IS NOW! if only society weren't so lazy, nobody wants to fight for anything now days it seems. we need a good protest like the march one washington, somthing that will spark a revolution. ahhh spring time, perfect time to start a rally or protest = ]

I wouldn't get too excited. He likes to speak of change, but it's all talk. The guy is all style and no substance. Personally, I think McCain's wife is a very intelligent and attractive lady, but then again, I'm straight.

I'm ashamed to admit that I don't know Obama's position or record on LGBT issues. That being said, I think he would be more open to discussing and moving forward with full legal rights. Your question, I think, is slightly different, however. If the US elects a candidate on a platform of change (and a minority candidate at that), what kind and how much change are they ready for? I don't think LGBT issues are the changes in the forefront of the general public's mind. Would he be brave enough to push for them and other real changes?--I hope so. Would he be tempted to not push for the radical changes necessary to improve the lives of all US citizens so as not to frighten the establishment?--I hope not. We are at the precipice, my friend...

Oprah thinks Obama "is the one ". I'm not so sure. I'll support him, and I'll sure as heII vote for him, but he's only one man, and the Senate is still going to be 90% filled with stodgy old homophobic Neanderthals (probably close to 1/ 4 of them closeted gays themselves) who would never allow a GLBT push for civil rights to get to first base.
